In the name of Jesus, we bid you welcome to Immanuel Lutheran Church, a congregation of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod.  Here the faithful of Christ gather weekly around God's Holy Word and Sacrament, hungry and thirsty for the heavenly food of forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation.  Here the same Jesus who died for our sins and rose again comes to dwell with His people, to bless them with His Holy Spirit, and to strengthen them in their lives of love and service to their neighbor.  We invite you to visit Immanuel and join us in receiving the good gifts of our loving and merciful God and Savior who says: "Come to Me all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

Worship

Sunday Divine Service 10:00 am

For this worship service, the Immanuel bus picks up our members at Cedar Ridge at 9:30 am and at Ashbrook at 9:40 am.

Other Worship Opportunities

Matins -- Tue/Thur at 8:30 a.m.

Lenten services begin on Ash Wednesday, (February 22) at 7:00 p.m. and continue through Maundy Thursday.  Please join us for a fellowship meal before each Lenten service. Maunday Thursday and Good Friday Worship Services are at 7:00 pm. Easter Services are at 6:30 & 10:00 a.m.

The 2011 Sunday School children's Christmas service was December 18.  The Choir Contata was Christmas Eve.

We worship at 7:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, and Ascension Day Eve.

We worship at 10:00 a.m. on Christmas morning with Communion. 

Communion is celebrated every Sunday.  Surely the Lord is present not only in His House but in us!

Led by God's Word, we desire that the people who receive Holy Communion are:

1. People who are properly prepared through repentance and faith in Christ (1 Corinthians 11:28).  
2. Realize that they are receiving Christ's very Body and Blood in the bread and wine (1 Corinthians 10:16, 11-27).  
3. Receiving Holy Communion together is a sign of a congregation's unity in faith and doctrine (1 Corinthians 10:17; Acts 2:42; Romans 16:17).

Guests are welcome if they are a member in good standing of a sister LCMS congregation who have been instructed in the faith. All other guests are asked to please visit with Pastor first.

VOYAGES (After School Program)
Wednesdays -- 2:30 - 5:00 p.m. for grades K-4 September to March

This is the third year of VOYAGES.  Students are building on the firm foundation of God's Word for life.  They are learning about music, art, kindness, sharing, and caring for their neighbor.  If you have any questions, please contact Director Liz Wieting at 648-2127.

The Lighthouse Center of Hope invites all Immanuel members to their Annual Fundraiser on Sunday, April 15 at the Gentle Student Center at 2:00 p.m.

Guest speaker, Dr. David Menton, is Associate Professor Emeritus of Anatomy at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis where he received the Distinguished Service Teaching Award ten years running, teacher of the year, and professor of the year.  Dr. Menton is on staff with Answers in Genesis.  He wraps the amazing facts of life with winsome wit and wisdom.  All he has seen convicts him that we are fearfully and wonderfully made.

The Lighthouse is hosting Dr. Menton on a three-day educational tour.  
 

HUMAN CARE EVENT

Presenter: Rev. John Pless, Professor of Pastoral Ministry & Missions at Concordia Theology Seminary in Fort Wayne

How do we live out our faith during the week?  In the classroom?  At work?  In our neighborhood and community?

How do we properly distinguish between Law and Gospel so that we can resist evil, correct wrong behavior, and welcome repentent sinners?

What can the Body of Christ do in a world that doesn't want to hear God's Word?

What does God's Word of Law and Gospel have to say about human life?  Caring for our neighbors?  Affecting the culture?

Rev. Pless is the author of several books including Handling the Word of Truth: Law & Gospel in the Church Today, A Small Catechism on Human Life, and Luther on the Care for the Sick and the Dying.
